Dr. phil. Emma Jones
Clinical Psychologist & Federally accredited Psychotherapist

I am a Clinical Psychologist and federally accredited Psychotherapist with two decades of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families.

My interest in international mobility is both professional and personal. I grew up between the United Kingdom, Australia, and France, and have spent much of my life navigating different cultures, educational systems, and communities. Today, I am raising three children of my own and understand first-hand both the opportunities and challenges that come with building a life across cultures.

My doctoral research at the University of Basel focused on the psychological adaptation and well-being of Third Culture Kids and internationally mobile families. Through both my research and clinical work, I have developed a deep appreciation for the ways mobility can shape identity, belonging, resilience, and family relationships.

Throughout my career, I have worked with children, adolescents, and families in clinical, educational, and multidisciplinary settings in Switzerland and France. I currently work as a psychotherapist within the Department of Psychiatry at the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG), at the Clinique de Crans-Montana. My therapeutic approach draws primarily on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based approaches.

I am particularly interested in supporting children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, emotional difficulties, adjustment challenges, and questions of identity and belonging. I also enjoy working with parents who are navigating the complexities of raising children in internationally mobile families.

When I am not working, you will usually find me outdoors. I enjoy horse riding, running in nature with my dog, and spending time with my family in the mountains.
